Town Square with Ernie Manouse is a gathering space for the community to come together and discuss the day’s most important and pressing issues.
In the first segment, Ernie is joined by Dr. Kirstin Matthews, Fellow in Science and Technology Policy at Rice University’s Baker Institute, to discuss the latest scientific findings around COVID-19. Dr. Matthews also addresses the realities regarding proposed timelines for an approved vaccine.
Ernie is then joined by Academy Award-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. to discuss his Eracism Foundation, which seeks “the removal from existence of the belief that one race, one culture, one people is superior to another.” They also talk about Gossett’s own experiences of racism.
Then, Dr. Dietrich von Biedenfeld, a business professor at UH Downtown, joins Ernie for a conversation about how racism affects the economy.
