Fort Bend well represented on Touchdown Club preseason team

Monday marks the first day of practice for 6A and 5A football programs.

A handful of Fort Bend County players on these larger programs will start practice this week with an extra set of eyes on them after the Touchdown Club of Houston announced its annual preseason team.

Lamar Consolidated ISD had three selections, including George Ranch wide receiver Javon Gipson, Foster wide receiver Cody Jackson and Foster offensive lineman Reuben Fatheree II.

Gipson had six touchdowns over the Longhorns’ final three games.

Five came in the Longhorns’ two playoff games against Clear Falls and Humble last season.

He had 29 catches for 637 yards and nine touchdowns during his junior season.

The George Ranch star committed to Baylor University.
