THE ALL-TIME SERIES
• Texas has faced only two schools more frequently than Baylor (109 times, last 2019) in its football history - Texas A&M (118 times, last 2011) and Oklahoma (116 times, last 2020).
• It will be the 60th meeting between the two programs in Austin, where the Longhorns hold a 47-10-2 record over the Bears.
• UT is 2-1 against Baylor since 2017, Tom Herman's first season at the helm in Austin, and 17-6 during the Big 12 era (since 1996). The Longhorns have won four of the last five meetings overall.
• The teams have split their last 10 meetings, dating back to the 2010 season.

CAMPBELL-WILLIAMS FIELD DEDICATION
• At the request of the Jamail family, Joe Jamail Field has been renamed in honor of Longhorn Legends and Heisman Trophy winners Earl Campbell (1974-77) and Ricky Williams (1995-98).
• Campbell, the famed "Tyler Rose," holds a special place in The University of Texas and state of Texas' football history. As a senior at UT in 1977, Campbell became the first Longhorn to win the Heisman Trophy after he rushed for 1,744 yards – a Southwest Conference record that stood for 16 years – and 19 touchdowns. He led the nation in rushing and scoring, and posted a pair of 200-yard games on the road against Texas A&M (222 yards) and SMU (213 yards). Campbell also set a Texas record for 100-yard rushing games that season (10).
• Williams, a San Diego native, completed his UT career with 21 NCAA and 46 school records under his name en route to becoming Texas' second Heisman Trophy winner in 1998. He was a three-time first-team all-conference pick, a two-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and only the second player to twice win the Doak Walker Award (nation's top running back). Williams' career culminated in his final home game, on the field now named in his honor, when he surpassed Tony Dorsett's 22-year-old NCAA rushing record.
• The field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium was originally named after Joe Jamail in 1997 to honor the lifelong Longhorn's immense contributions to The University of Texas' athletic department.

NOTABLE STREAKS AND TRENDS
• Texas is 9-4 in non-conference games, including bowl games, under head coach Tom Herman. That includes a 5-2 mark at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
• Texas is 11-3 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium since the start of the 2018 season and 14-6 overall during Herman's tenure as head coach.
• The Longhorns are 11-8 in one-possession games (decided by eight points or less) since the start of 2018.
• UT has won 22 of the 23 games it has outgained its opponent under Tom Herman.
• The Longhorns are 22-2 under Herman when outrushing their opponents, and have won 16 of the last 18 instances.
• Texas' defense has forced at least one turnover in 36 of 44 games under Herman, including in 19 of its last 22 contests.
• UT is 25-3 when leading at halftime since the start of the 2017 season.
• The Longhorns are 15-1 when holding their opponents under 20 points during Herman's tenure.
• Tom Herman's Texas teams are 10-1 when forcing at least three turnovers and are 20-6 when turning the ball over fewer than three times.

HEAD COACH TOM HERMAN
• Tom Herman is in his sixth season overall as a head coach with a career record of 49-21 (.700). He is in his fourth season at Texas with a mark of 27-17 (.614).
• Including the 2020 season, Herman has spent 17 of his 23 seasons as a coach in the state of Texas on the collegiate level.
• Herman graduated from Cal Lutheran and received his master's degree in education from The University of Texas.
• He owns a career mark of 14-9 against top-25 opponents, 5-6 against top-10 foes and 3-3 versus teams ranked in the top five.

BOUNCING BACK
• Texas is 12-4 in games following losses in three seasons under Tom Herman. That includes a 4-1 mark in 2019, with the Longhorns picking up wins over Rice, Kansas, No. 16 Kansas State and Texas Tech following losses.
• The Longhorns also responded to a 39-27 loss to No. 5 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game last year by knocking off No. 6 Georgia, 28-21, in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
• After losses, Texas has scored a total of 459 points (35.3 per game), including a 48-point display against Rice and a 50-point outburst against Kansas, this season.
• In the three seasons prior to Herman's arrival at Texas, the Longhorns were 9-10 following a loss (does not include season openers following a bowl-game loss).
