[Connect] Multiple Speakers / Devices simultaneously

Now that connect is becoming available it would be nice to be able to connect to multiple outputs at the same time. For example I have 2 connect compatable speakers... it'd be great to have these in different parts of my house and be able to stream the same music to both.

I would suggest a maximum of 3 devices at the same time. This will allow for most scenarios to be catered for without streatching the bandwidth too much that it will degrade quality.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

More info on why your idea has been closed can be found here.

Ridiculuos that Spotify hasn't already done this. If you are playing the exact same music at the same time as another device, it is impossible to cheat the license because everyone is forced to listen to the exact same thing at the same time. That argument aside. If I am playing spotify with speakers in my home, I have to stop it everytime I move rooms and resume it in another room. Well what if I am doing chores and moving around the whole house? I really don't think I should have to buy one of those home bluetooth things... those lag anyways. I should be able to have my computers in each room all play exactly synced the same music.

This becomes even more essentials with Spotify streaming to Alexa multi-room group of speakers AND some other speakers not supporting Alexa multi-room. For example, I have several Amazon Echo devices in Alexa group and a Yamaha soundbar, that can not be added to the group. Playing to Alexa group AND Yamaha would be terrific.

Samsung phones support 2 devices to stream over Bluetooth, btw: https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-dual-audio-how-to-1137101/

is the ability to stream simultaneously to multiple devices available or on the way? It seems like an obvious feature. Is there an issue with timing synchronisation?

being able to connect to multiple wi-fi speakers simultaneously will make iTunes/airplay obsolete!

Would love to connect several speakers like my Sonos soundbar and my mac with Airport

Hi, i Hope this will be done soon, but after all these Years, despite the number or votes.... I think Spotify team juste don't Care at all 😢

This would be wonderful to have as I have both Amazon and Google speakers in my house.

2020 almost 2021 and this feature is still being watched

That means the developers aren't skilled enough to implement this feature.

And the project managers are too incompetent.

Prove me wrong.  I TRIPLE DOG DARE you
