NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans men's basketball concludes non-conference play in Houston to take on Rice today at 2 p.m. on CUSA.tv and women's hoops hosts Alcorn State in the non-con finale Tuesday at 12 p.m.
 
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Men's basketball (1-6) looks for its first victory over Rice (5-2) as the Owls lead the all-time series 2-0. Rice is 3-1 against Southland opponents this season and 2-1 inside Tudor Fieldhouse.
 
The Privateers' lone win came on the road during the BSN Dolphin Classic (Florida National December 8).
 
Troy Green is averaging 17.4 points on 50.6 percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals. He has reached double figures in the last six contests and was last week's Southland and Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week.
 
Damion Rosser follows with averages of 15.1 points on 55.4 percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
 
The duo of Green and Rosser rank fourth and sixth in the Southland in scoring, respectively and Rosser's field goal percentage ranks third.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers (2-3) are 2-0 at Lakefront Arena and are coming off a 74-64 victory over South Alabama Sunday afternoon. In the game, UNO featured three student-athletes in double figures, all off the bench, highlighted by Erin Randle's 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Mia Deck posted 20 points with nine coming from deep and Mary Delgado added 16 points.
 
The defense forced 22 turnovers and the bench outscored the Jaguars second unit 60 to nine.
 
Jada Duncantell leads the club in scoring with 11.0 points per game to go with her team-high 2.6 assists per contest. Deck follows at 10.0 points/game and the sophomore is knocking down 81.8 percent of her free throws. Depth is key for the Privateers with eight student-athletes averaging 15.0+ minutes (min. three games).
 
Prior to the Jaguars win, Delgado scored 14 points and Brianna Ellis added 10 off the bench at Missouri (December 16).
