From Lubbock to St. George, the road continues to be the home of the Lobos.

The New Mexico Lobos have had anything but a dream season. The basketball team, normally based out of Albuquerque, has been on the road more than not this season. Most of the season, the Lobos have resided in the Lubbock area, using the Rip Griffin Center of the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals as their home court and getting practices in as able.

The extended road trip continues for the program, which heads to St. George, Utah to challenge the WAC-based Dixie State. The 4-2 Trailblazers last took on the top team in the country, Gonzaga, and suffered quite the margin of defeat with a 112-67 loss at the McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, WA.

After a 3-0 start followed by an 0-6 stretch that included enough blowouts of their own, New Mexico has a chance in this one to get another notch in the win column against a newly minted division I program. The lone win against a division I squad for New Mexico this season was their season opening win over the 9-3 Rice Owls in Houston.

Notably, New Mexico and Dixie State reached an agreement which allows the Lobos to use the Trailblazers’ Burns Arena for practice for the next two weeks and to host conference games against San Jose State scheduled on January 21st and 23rd.

Here is a quick look at the matchup:

Who: New Mexico Lobos (3-6, 0-6 Mountain West) vs. Dixie State Trailblazers (4-2, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference)

When: Wednesday, January 13 – 7:00 PM MST

Where: Burns Arena –  St. George, UT

Stream: WAC Digital Network

Radio: Dixie State | New Mexico
