On Monday’s Houston Matters: The recent influx of young migrants crossing the border has forced federal officials to establish additional intake sites and seek additional temporary shelters to relieve overcrowding. We learn what unaccompanied minors go through after they cross the border and how the Biden administration is handling immigration issues so far.

Also this hour: Houston is the only American city with two major airports using facial recognition technology at international arrival checkpoints. That technology has drawn some criticism in recent years — but not just for privacy issues. It turns out facial recognition, at least when first developed, did not see dark-skinned faces accurately. It’s the subject of a documentary called Coded Bias, which airs tonight at 9 on Houston Public Media, TV 8.

Then, veterinarian Dr. Lori Teller answers your questions.

And we learn how area teams have fared so far in the NCAA tournament and other developments in Houston sports.
