Houston Remains Strong on Second Day of Texas Relays

Nora Monie secures program record in Discus

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field program posted second program record in as many days at the 93rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
 
The ladies once again got things started for the Cougars as Nu'uausala Tuilefano posted a second-place finish in the 'B' Shot Put. Tuilefano's best throw came on her sixth attempt when she recorded a mark of 15.66m (51-4 ½).
 
Christyan Sampy launched himself into the Houston record books, securing a first-place finish in the 'B' Pole Vault. Sampy cleared 5.39m (17-4 ½) matching the third-best outdoor clearance in program history in the event.
 
Nora Monie continues to have a stellar season, securing the program record in the Discus to take third-place in the event. With a toss of 55.81m (183-1) on her fifth attempt, Monie now owns the two of the top-five throws in UH history.
 
The Cougars will return to action in Austin tomorrow at 10 a.m. Meet action can be viewed via the Longhorn Network. Meet information, including results and heat sheets can be found HERE. HOUSTON ATTENDANCE POLICY
Limited tickets for Houston Track & Field will now be sold on a single-game, general admission basis while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to act quickly and purchase advanced single-game tickets prior to their arrival on campus due to limited availability.
 
All facilities and related spring sporting events will operate at 25 percent capacity of available seating throughout the remainder of the 2021 season.
 
For fans wishing to attend any of these home events this spring, an exclusive pre-sale ticket offer will be made available to existing season ticket holders and donors prior to the general public on-sale which begins on Monday, March 15 at 9 a.m. CT.
