In his 10-plus seasons at Eastern Michigan University, Braun led the men's basketball team to the most successful decade in school history. He holds the university record for basketball victories with 185, was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year three times, directed the basketball team to Mid-American Conference and MAC Tournament Championships three times, and led EMU to three NCAA post-season tournament appearances – including a "Sweet 16" run in the 1990-91 season.

Coach Braun was chosen as the head coach of the United States team at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1989 and brought home a silver medal.

After leaving Eastern, Coach Braun took the University of California Golden Bears to a 202-138 record, establishing the standard for the most postseason appearances and postseason victories. He has coached at Rice University and currently does commentary on the PAC-12 Network, ESPN, and NBC Sports.

This presentation is co-sponsored by Hillel at Eastern Michigan University, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation's Life and Legacy Program, and Eastern Michigan University Athletics.
