Cougars Set for Friday Doubleheader

Houston welcomes Prairie View A&M for pair of matches on Friday
HOUSTON – The Houston tennis returns home for its first match in Houston since March 16 as it prepares for a doubleheader against Prairie View A&M.
Returning home after a two-week stretch on the road, Houston will now close out the season almost entirely at home with four of the five remaining matchups here at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
The first match on Friday will begin at 10 a.m. CT with the second scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. The time in between the two matches will be used to celebrate the program's Senior Day. Live stats for the match can be found here.
SPECIAL SENIORS
In between the two matches on Friday, the Cougars will honor a pair of seniors for all they've accomplished with the program: Mimi Kendall-Woseley and Phonexay Chitdara. Both transferring into the program, the duo has been leaders on this year's squad and incredible competitors throughout their two seasons in Houston.
The pair have combined for 36 singles victories in their time on campus with 15 this season. At times, the two have also been doubles partners together in their careers.
Originally scheduled for March 16 against Cincinnati, the ceremonies were delayed due to rain.
SERIES HISTORY
Separated by only 50 miles, the two programs have met 14 times with Houston winning all 14 meetings. Since arriving in 2018, head coach Helena Besovic owns two of those victories, both coming in a doubleheader.
UP NEXT
Houston stays at home for two of their next three matches with SMU and Rice both coming to the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility. The team's only remaining trip will be to Beaumont, Texas, to face Lamar.
