Bentwood Country Club partnership full of San Angelo Central storylines

Former San Angelo Central High School tennis standouts Chad Meeks and Colby Meeks shot a 2-under par 70 Thursday to tie Tyler Ware and Zachery Murphy for the first-round lead in the Presidents Flight at the Bentwood Country Club men's partnership golf tournament.
After starting his collegiate career at Tyler Junior College, Colby Meeks transferred to Midwestern State, where his older brother played all four years.
Colby Meeks is an assistant coach for the women's tennis team at Rice University.
The Meeks brothers did a nice job of showcasing their skills on the golf links Thursday.
Central head football coach Kevin Crane and partner Murray Carson opened with a 71 and they're in a five-way tie for third with four other teams -- Travis Brown and John Callahan; Jason Ball and Jack Graves; Jake Farr and Troy Jenike; Jake Farr and Troy Jenike; and Mychal Carrillo and Paxton DeLaGarza.
Ball is a former Central golf standout who played collegiately at Western Texas College and Life University in Georgia.
The duo of Alex Jenike and Ryan Gutierrez is currently in eighth place, two shots off the lead with a 72.
The three-day partnership runs through Saturday. It features a total of 160 players divided into eight flights.
