June 20: Tulsa hires TEs coach

Tulsa: Former Texas Tech assistant Luke Wells has joined Tulsa as tight ends coach.

June 10: Wisconsin hires D’Onofrio

Western Kentucky: Former Georgia Southern inside linebackers coach Travis Cunningham has joined WKU in the same role.

Wisconsin: Former Houston defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio has joined Wisconsin as inside linebackers coach.

May 24: EMU hires Johnson

Eastern Michigan: Las Vegas Raiders assistant Taver Johnson has joined EMU as safeties coach/defensive pass game coordinator.

May 13: Sheridan resigns

Wisconsin: Inside linebackers coach Bill Sheridan has resigned, following his alleged involvement in NCAA violations at Air Force.

Georgia State: Elon tight ends coach Arketa Banks has joined the Georgia State staff as special teams coordinator.

UTEP: Head coach Dana Dimel has received a two-year extension through 2024.

April 29: Locksley’s new deal

Maryland: Head coach Mike Locksley has agreed to a new five-year deal through 2026, with incentives that could increase the contract by two more years. Lockley’s contract will be extended an additional year if Maryland wins at least seven regular season games in 2022. That can become a two-year extension if Maryland wins at least seven regular season games in 2023 (regardless of 2022 record). The buyout to fire Locksley without cause is 65 percent of the remaining deal, with no offset, meaning it’ll start around $11 million by the end of the 2022 season, not accounting for potential extensions. The buyout for Locksley to leave starts at $7 million.

April 26: Coastal Carolina makes changes

Coastal Carolina: Tight ends coach Malcolm Dixon has moved to wide receivers coach, analyst Cody Ladutko has been promoted to tight ends coach, and analyst Aaron Fierbaugh has been promoted to linebackers coach. Previous inside linebackers coach Rod Wilson has left for a job with the Kansas City Chiefs

April 21: Purdue hires special teams coordinator

Purdue: Louisville senior quality control specialist Karl Maslowski has joined the Purdue staff as special teams coordinator/assistant linebackers coach.

April 14: Cignetti gets extension

Northern Illinois: Northern Illinois is hiring Duke analyst Joseph Hawkins as receivers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. ESPN first reported the move.

Purdue: Purdue is expected to hire Louisville quality control specialist Karl Maslowski as special teams coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. Rivals first reported the move.

James Madison: Head coach Curt Cignetti has signed a three-year extension through 2027. Cignetti is 33-5 in three years. JMU is moving to the FBS this fall.

April 7: Charlotte hires Texas analyst

Charlotte: Texas senior offensive analyst Cordae Hankton has joined Charlotte as running backs coach.

April 6: Cincinnati hires assistant

Cincinnati: Hope College assistant James Ross III has joined Cincinnati as outside linebackers coach.

Miami (Ohio): Sam Houston wide receivers coach Myles White has joined Miami (Ohio) in the same role.

South Alabama: Austin Peay tight ends coach Antonio Bradford has joined South Alabama as running backs coach.

March 31: Georgia Tech hiring Alexander

Georgia Tech: Former Notre Dame assistant Del Alexander is expected to join Georgia Tech as receivers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna.

March 28: Narduzzi signs extension

Miami (Ohio): Former Michigan State defensive line coach Ron Burton has joined Miami in the same role.

Rice: Former NFL running back C.J. Anderson has joined the staff as running backs coach. Anderson spent 2020 as a volunteer assistant at Cal and spent last year as the head coach at Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista High School.

Pitt: Head coach Pat Narduzzi signed a contract extension through the 2030 season.

March 25: Troy hires former Alabama State DC as cornerbacks coach

Troy: Former Alabama State defensive coordinator Troy Pearson has joined Troy as cornerbacks coach.

New Mexico State: Former assistant Kevin Maurice is expected to become the new running backs coach at North Carolina Central, a source tell’s The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. The Miami native had coached running backs at FCS powerhouse Eastern Washington and had been on staffs at Purdue and Miami.

March 24: Hawaii complete’s on-field coaching staff

Memphis: Charlotte running backs coach Sean Dawkins has joined the Memphis staff as running backs coach.

Sam Houston: Former Tyler JC head coach Thomas Rocco has joined Sam Houston as cornerbacks coach/special teams coordinator.

Iowa: Former Colorado State offensive coordinator Jon Budmayr has joined Iowa as an analyst.

Georgia State: Former Houston Texans assistant defensive line coach Allen Smith has joined Georgia State as defensive line coach, and USF quality control assistant Quinshad Davis has joined as wide receivers coach.

Hawaii: Weber State wide receivers coach Jared Ursua has joined Hawaii as wide receivers coach. This completes Timmy Chang’s staff.

March 23: OU hiring Wells

Oklahoma: Oklahoma is hiring former Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells to its support staff, a source told The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna.

March 18: Air Force hires D-line coach

Air Force: Miami (Ohio) defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow has joined Air Force as defensive line coach.

March 17: Central Michigan hires O-line coach

Missouri: Former LSU assistant Derek Shay is expected to become an offensive analyst at Missouri, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Central Michigan: Colorado offensive assistant William Vlachos has joined the CMU staff as offensive line coach.

March 16: UNLV makes new hires

UNLV: Weber State defensive line coach Bojay Filimoeatu has joined UNLV in the same role, and Cal defensive quality assistant Michael Bruno has joined UNLV as inside linebackers coach.

March 14: TCU hiring Memphis RBs coach

TCU: Memphis running backs coach Anthony Jones Jr. is expected to join the TCU staff in the same role, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Jones has been at Memphis since late 2017 and developed several NFL Draft picks. The Daily Memphian first reported the news.

Bowling Green: Northern Arizona outside linebackers/nickels coach Sammy Lawanson has joined Bowling Green as outside linebackers coach.

March 11: Rutgers adds Alabama analyst

UNLV: Nick Holz has joined UNLV as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. Holz spent the last 10 years with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.

Rutgers: Alabama analyst Mark Orphey has joined Rutgers as cornerbacks coach, and quality control assistant Drew Lascari has been promoted to safeties coach.

March 10: Georgia State names OC

Georgia State: Wide receivers coach Trent McKnight has been promoted to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

March 9: Indiana to hire former Cowboys WR coach

Florida Atlanta: Former Florida wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales has joined the FAU staff as wide receivers coach.

Louisiana: Senior defensive analyst Mike Giuliani has been promoted to outside linebackers coach.

Tulane: Georgia State defensive line coach Travian Robertson has joined Tulane as defensive line coach.

Indiana: Former Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach Adam Henry will join Indiana as wide receivers coach/co-offensive coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. The deal is expected to become official next week.

March 7: Vols promote Pope

Army: Former UConn wide receivers coach Aaron Smith has joined Army as wide receivers coach.

Miami (Fla.): UTSA co-defensive coordinator Rod Wright has joined the Miami staff as defensive ends coach.

UTSA: Delaware defensive line coach Siddiq Haynes has joined UTSA as defensive line coach.

Tennessee: Offensive analyst Kelsey Pope has been promoted to wide receivers coach.

March 4: Samples leaving TCU for NFL

Air Force: Former Akron defensive coordinator Nick Toth has joined Air Force as safeties coach. Toth was previously at Air Force in 2017.

Texas State: Former Eastern Michigan wide receivers coach R.J. Fleming has joined Texas State as running backs coach.

TCU: Running backs/assistant head coach Ra’Shaad Samples is expected to join the Los Angeles Rams as running backs coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. The 27-year-old Samples rose from offensive assistant to assistant head coach at SMU and followed the staff to TCU. On3 first reported the news.

March 3: Cincinnati makes switch

Miami (Fla.): Former Miami Dolphins legends Jason Taylor is expected to join the Hurricanes in an off-field role, sources tell The Athletic’s Manny Navarro. Read more here.

Tulane: Georgia State assistant Eman Naghavi is expected to join Tulane as offensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Naghavi coached Georgia State’s offensive line last season. ESPN first reported the news.

Cincinnati: Newly hired outside linebackers coach Walt Stewart will move to defensive line coach.

March 2: UCF hiring Heard

UCF: UCF is expected to hire Indiana co-offensive coordinators/receivers coach Grant Heard as receivers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. 247Sports first reported the news.

Colorado: Tulane defensive line coach Gerald Chatman is expected to become the new defensive line coach at Colorado, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Eastern Michigan: Virginia Tech senior offensive analyst Dyrell Roberts is expected to join Eastern Michigan as wide receivers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Roberts recently joined Virginia Tech and was previously an assistant at Western Illinois. FootballScoop first reported the news.

Cincinnati: Defensive line coach Greg Scruggs is expected to join the New York Jets as assistant defensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Justin Williams. ESPN first reported the news.

Louisiana Tech: Incarnate Word defensive line coach Casey Walker is expected to join the LA Tech staff in the same role, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. On3 first reported the news.

UAB: South Alabama running backs coach Earnest Hill is expected to join UAB as defensive backs coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Hill spent one year at USA and was previously an Alabama high school coach for 20 years. On3 first reported the news.

March 1: UNC hiring Bicknell

Nevada: Nevada is expected to hire Utah State defensive line coach Al Lapuaho as its new defensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Iowa: South Dakota State outside linebackers coach Abdul Hodge is expected to join the Iowa staff as tight ends coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman. Hodge, a former Iowa linebacker, spent three years at SDSU. Offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz is expected to shift from tight ends to quarterbacks. ESPN first reported the news.

Appalachian State: Tulane offensive line coach Geep Wade is expected to join App State as offensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Wade. He spent last season at Georgia Southern and joined Tulane in January. ESPN first reported the news.

California: Former USC defensive line coach Vic So’oto, who had been on staff at Colorado for two months, is expected to become the outside linebackers coach at Cal, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Northern Illinois: Wide receivers coach Tony Sorrentino has joined the Minnesota Vikings as assistant wide receivers coach.

Ohio: Running backs coach Tyler Tettleton is leaving the staff for an offensive quality control job with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. ESPN first reported the news.

North Carolina: Louisville offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. is expected to become the new offensive line coach at North Carolina, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Feb. 28: Briles resigns from Grambling

Grambling: Art Briles has resigned as offensive coordinator, four days after the school confirmed his hiring

Georgia: Georgia is expected to hire back North Carolina’s Stacy Searels as offensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. On3 first reported the move.

Louisiana: Western Carolina’s Dennis Thomas is expected to become Louisiana’s new defensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Feb. 25: Kentucky finds new OC

Texas A&M: Nevada offensive line coach Louis Addazio has accepted an offensive line analyst job at Texas A&M, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. His father Steve is the A&M offensive line coach.

Hawaii: Eastern Washington defensive coordinator Eti Ena has joined the Hawaii staff as defensive line coach.

Charlotte: Former Indianapolis Colts defensive line coach Brian Baker is expected to join Charlotte as defensive line coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. On3 first reported the news.

San Diego State: Defensive line coach Jordan Thomas has officially joined the Cleveland Browns as assistant defensive line coach.

Kentucky: Kentucky is expected to hire 49ers quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello as its new offensive coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.  NFL Network first reported the move.

WKU: Oregon defensive analyst Michael Hutchings is expected to become the new outside linebackers coach at WKU, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Ole Miss: Purdue special teams coordinator Marty Biagi is expected to join the Ole Miss staff, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Gold and Black first reported the news.

Feb. 24: Grambling hires Briles

UCLA: UCLA is expected to hire Bruins great Ken Norton Jr as the new linebackers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. The three-time Super Bowl champion has spent the past decade coaching in the NFL.

Grambling: Former Baylor head coach Art Briles has joined the staff as offensive coordinator.

UNLV: Cal OLB coach Keith Heyward is expected to become the new defensive coordinator at UNLV, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Texas Tech: USC quality control assistant C.J. Ah You has joined Texas Tech as outside linebackers coach.

Feb.23: Auburn hires Hilliard

Michigan: Former quarterback Denard Robinson has been targeted to join the staff in a player personnel role, a source tells The Athletic’s Austin Meek. On3 first reported the news.

Air Force: Hampton assistant Marc Bacote has joined Air Force as tight ends coach.

Auburn: Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard has joined Auburn in the same position.

Western Kentucky: New co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach Tyson Summers has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

FAU: Miami Killian Senior High School head coach Derrick Gibson has joined FAU as safeties coach. In addition, new assistant Chad Lunsford’s title is tight ends coach/special teams coordinator.

Vanderbilt: Vanderbilt is expected to hire Northern Illinois assistant Dan Jackson to its defensive staff, a source tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. ESPN first reported the move.

Wisconsin: Air Force defensive line coach Bill Sheridan has joined the Wisconsin staff as inside linebackers coach, and Bob Bostad has moved to offensive line coach. Tight ends coach Mickey Turner has moved to an off-field role.

Navy: Former Hyde Park High School (Texas) head coach Chuck Petersen has joined the Navy staff as an offensive assistant, and Wake Forest special teams assistant Ryan Crawford has joined as safeties coach.

Feb. 21: Luke stepping down

Texas: Former NFL cornerback Joey Thomas will join the Texas staff as a defensive analyst, a source tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. 247Sports first reported the news.

Georgia: Georgia offensive line coach Matt Luke is stepping down, a source confirmed to The Athletic’s Seth Emerson on Monday. 247Sports first reported the news.

Central Michigan: Former Idaho head coach Paul Petrino is expected to become Central Michigan’s new offensive coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Feb. 19: Miami hiring Strong

Miami: Charlie Strong, the former head coach at Texas, Louisville and USF, is finalizing a deal to become Miami’s linebackers coach, sources confirmed to The Athletic. ESPN first reported the hire.

Feb. 18: Georgia hires Rutgers DB coach

Auburn: Wide receivers coach Eric Kiesau has been promoted to offensive coordinator, analyst Roc Bellantoni has been promoted to edge linebackers coach/special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach Zac Etheridge has added the title of associate head coach.

Maryland: Florida quality control assistant James Thomas Jr. has rejoined Maryland as outside linebackers coach/special teams coordinator. Thomas spent the 2021 season at Maryland and replaces Ron Zook.

Minnesota: Cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes has been promoted to co-defensive coordinator.

Georgia: Rutgers defensive backs coach Fran Brown is expected to join the Georgia staff, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. ESPN first reported the move. The Athletic’s Seth Emerson explains what the hire would mean for the Bulldogs.

Feb. 17: Charlotte co-DC leaving to coach Bills’ defensive line

Michigan: Jim Harbaugh’s new five-year contract pays $7.05 million in the first year, plus a $1 million annual retirement contribution, and the buyout for Harbaugh to leave starts at $3 million. Read more here.

Temple: Western Michigan cornerbacks coach Marvin Clecidor has joined Temple as safeties coach.

Boston College: Former Louisiana Tech and NFL offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has joined BC as offensive line coach.

Charlotte: Marcus West, the team’s assistant head coach, co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, is expected to join the Buffalo Bills staff coaching the defensive line.

Feb. 16: Harbaugh agrees to extension

UCLA: Former Chicago Bears assistant Bill McGovern is expected to become the new UCLA defensive coordinator, sources tell The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. BRO first reported the move.

Ole Miss: Ole Miss is expected to hire Western Kentucky defensive coordinator Mo Crum as co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. On3 first reported the move.

Iowa: Quarterbacks coach Ken O’Keefe has stepped down and will remain on staff in an off-field role.

Michigan: Head coach Jim Harbaugh has received a new five-year contract through 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Marshall: Marshall is expected to hire Alabama staffer Johnathan Galante as special teams coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Purdue: Jeff Brohm has added Youngstown State cornerbacks coach Ashton Youboty as cornerbacks coach, promoted quality control assistant David Elson to linebackers coach and promoted assistant Ryan Wallace to tight ends/assistant offensive line coach.

Tulsa: Sam Houston defensive pass game coordinator Gary McGraw has joined Tulsa as cornerbacks coach.

Feb. 15: Notre Dame hiring Golden

Middle Tennessee: Florida A&M running backs coach Shane Tucker has joined MTSU as wide receivers coach.

Georgia Tech: Former Florida defensive line coach David Turner has joined Georgia Tech as defensive run game coordinator/assistant head coach (defense).

Louisville: Appalachian State offensive line coach Nic Cardwell has accepted a job on the Louisville staff, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. FootballScoop first reported the news.

Toledo: River Rouge High School (MI) head coach Corey Parker has joined Toledo as cornerbacks coach.

Baylor: Head coach Dave Aranda has received a contract extension through 2029.

Jacksonville State: Former Charlotte cornerbacks coach Eddie Hicks (cornerbacks) and Charleston head coach Pat Kirkland (bandits/special teams) have joined the Jacksonville State staff.

Wyoming: Former Temple offensive line coach Joe Tripodi has joined the Wyoming staff as offensive line coach. He replaces Derek Frazier, who is joining the Cincinnati Bengals.

Boston College: Wide receivers coach Joe Dailey has joined the Carolina Panthers as wide receivers coach, and offensive line coach Matt Applebaum is expected to join the Miami Dolphins as offensive line coach.

Missouri: Safeties coach Blake Baker is expected to be promoted to defensive coordinator, a source tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Baker joined the Mizzou staff last month. On3 first reported the news.

Cincinnati: Head coach Luke Fickell has agreed to a new extension through 2028 with a raise to $5 million annually, sources tell The Athletic’s Justin Williams. Read more here.

Texas State: UNLV cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings has joined the Texas State staff as defensive backs coach.

Virginia Tech: Wisconsin offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph has joined Virginia Tech as offensive line coach/run game coordinator.

Georgia Tech: Chris Weinke is expected to become the new QB coach at Ga. Tech. The 2000 Heisman winner from FSU has been a quarterbacks coach at Tennessee and for the Rams. Rivals first reported the hire.

Virginia Tech: Michael Hazel, Penn State’s senior director of football operations, is leaving to be chief of staff for Brent Pry at Virginia Tech, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

FIU: David Yost is expected to become the new offensive coordinator at FIU, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Yost has been the OC at Texas Tech, Utah State and Mizzou. In 2018, he was a semifinalist for the Broyles Award

Georgia Tech: Valdosta State defensive coordinator Jason Semore has joined Georgia Tech as an assistant coach.

Memphis: Ohio State interim defensive coordinator Matt Barnes will join Memphis as defensive coordinator.

Louisiana: LSU analyst Jorge Munoz is leaving to became the new tight ends coach/associate head coach at Louisiana, a source tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

Oregon: Washington wide receivers coach Junior Adams is expected to join Oregon as co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach, a person with knowledge tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Adams had been retained by new Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer. ESPN first reported the news.

LSU: Cincinnati offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is expected to join the LSU staff in the same role and former Louisiana Tech offensive coordinator Joe Sloan is expected to join as quarterbacks coach, people with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Brody Miller and Chris Vannini. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.

USC: Oklahoma inside linebackers coach Brian Odom has joined the USC staff in the same role.

Boise State: Washington running backs coach coach Keith Bhonapha has joined the Boise State staff as running backs/associate head coach. He previously worked at Boise from 2009-13.

Louisiana Monroe: ULM is expected to add former Troy inside receivers coach John Carr as wide receivers coach and former Georgia Southern tight ends coach Joe Graves as tight ends coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Both previously worked at ULM. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.
