2021 Cross Country Schedule Released

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese cross country head coach Brendon James Gilroy has released his 2021 schedule, the first fall season for the runners in two years.

 The season will start in Lake Charles with the McNeese Home Opener on Sept 3. 

The following Friday, the men's team will travel west to participate in the Rice XC Invitational in Houston on September 10. 

After two weeks, fans will have the chance to see the Pokes race back at home for a final time during the Toyota McNeese Cowboy Stampede on September 25.  

Both home meets will take place at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex.

The month of October will give the team an opportunity to boost their season PRs with the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invite in College Station Texas on the Oct. 16 followed by the Southland Conference Championships in Thibodeaux on the 29th.  

The Cowboys will be led by the 2020 Southland Conference runner up Gideon Cheplak, All SLC Senior Henry Kiplagat, and sophomore transfer Jacob Kipkogei

The Cowgirls will be led by All-Conference Performers Aurelia Jepkorir and Bonnie Andres, and Gladys Jemaiyo, who placed third in the NJCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championship.
