NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time this season the HBU women's soccer team will leave Houston to face Belmont and Middle Tennessee in a pair of non-conference road games on Thursday and Sunday.

The Huskies (0-3) have never faced the Bruins (1-3) or the Blue Raiders (1-2-1) and this will be the program's first-ever trip to Tennessee. Thursday's game at Belmont will be played at E.S. Rose Park with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff and will be broadcast on ESPN+. The Huskies' matchup with Middle Tennessee will be on Sunday in Murfreesboro, Tenn. at 1:00 p.m. at Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium.

Last weekend, HBU lost games to crosstown rivals Rice and Houston. In the loss to Rice, the Huskies led for nearly 50 minutes but the Owls netted a pair of goals in the second half to escape with a 2-1 win. Senior forward Noor Abukishk scored for HBU against Rice and, going back to last season, has totaled three goals and an assist in her last five games.

Belmont has played just one home game so far, defeating Chattanooga 2-1 last Friday, Aug. 27. Those two goals represent the Bruins' only scores so far this season, having been shutout in three road games. Sophomore Maci Pekmezian and freshman Leah Firsdon scored for Belmont in that win. In goal, junior Sarah Doyle has made three starts and is allowing 2.17 goals per game with a 1-2 record.

Middle Tennessee, meanwhile, is 1-1-1 on its home turf with the win coming against Belmont to open the season. Most recently, the Blue Raiders fell 3-2 to visiting Evansville. Senior forward Peyton DePriest leads Middle Tennessee with three goals, including a brace in a loss at Ole Miss. Junior Hannah Suder has started three of the team's four games in goal and boasts a 1.55 goals against average.

The Huskies will remain on the road following this weekend's trip, opening Southland Conference play the following Friday, Sep. 10, at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
