VB: HBU Takes On Rice In Midweek Tilt

HOUSTON – HBU will head across town to face Rice in a non-conference volleyball matchup Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Tudor Fieldhouse.
 
The Huskies (5-2) have won four-straight with junior setter Ellie Wipf directing the offense and leading the Southland Conference with 9.38 assists per set. Freshman outside hitter Alyssa May and sophomore outside hitter Sara Arroyo average 2.75 and 2.68 kills per set, respectively. Senior middle blocker Ebonie Ballesteros, the MVP of this past weekend's home tournament, adds more than two kills and a block per set. Sophomore libero Kaley Feris ranks second in the league with 4.67 digs per set.
 
The Owls (1-3) are led by Nicole Lennon, who averages 4.00 kills per set, and Anota Adekunle, who adds 3.53 kills per set. Setter Carly Graham dishes out 10.47 assists per set and Nia McCardell leads Rice defensively with 4.53 digs per set.
 
HBU will be on the road for three at TCU this weekend, before returning home to host Texas Southern Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
