Nuneviller, Murphy Earn Pac-12 Accolades

EUGENE, Ore. – Powered by their standout efforts during the Ducks' recent road trip, Brooke Nuneviller and Georgia Murphy have been named Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, as announced Monday by the conference office.
Nuneviller earns the sixth Pac-12 weekly honor of her career while Murphy collects her second.
In latest AVCA national poll, also released Monday, Oregon is up to a season-high No. 11 ranking. The Ducks picked up two wins in Houston to improve to 5-0 ahead of this week's Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge at Matthew Knight Arena. The loaded field also features No. 13 Minnesota, No. 14 Stanford and No. Penn State.
Nuneviller put down a conference-leading 31 kills in the Ducks' four-set win at Rice and tallied 21 digs to complete the first 30-20 performance by a Pac-12 player this season. She committed just six errors in 74 attempts, good for a .338 hitting percentage against the Owls. Nuneviller added two aces and a block to finish the match with a league-high 33.5 points.
The Chandler, Ariz., native followed with 12.5 points—10 kills, three total blocks and an ace—in a sweep of SMU. In two matches last week, Nuneviller averaged 6.57 points per set, 5.86 kills per set with a .284 hitting percentage and 4.29 digs per set.
Through the first two weeks of the season, Nuneviller ranks third in the Pac-12 with 4.25 kills per set and 4.78 points per set.
Playing back in her home state of Texas, Murphy led the Ducks' defensive charge with 5.43 digs per set during the two-match road trip. She registered a season-high 22 digs in the win over Rice, and with the 20th dig, she reached the 700 mark for her career. Murphy and the Ducks racked up 97 digs against Rice, the program's highest total since 2018.
Murphy led all players with 16 digs in a straight-set win over SMU, and helped hold the Mustangs to a season-low .057 hitting percentage. Additionally, she had zero reception errors in 27 targets.
The Woodlands, Texas, native currently ranks second in the Pac-12 with 4.94 digs per set. Collectively, Oregon leads the conference with 17.31 digs per set.
The Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge begins Friday afternoon in Eugene with Stanford taking on Minnesota, followed by the Ducks' match against Penn State. All four matches will air on the Pac-12 Network.
