Valiev & Azoides Rep Tech at Midland Racquet Club Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team got off to an impressive start in their 2021 fall season with a solid showing at the Midland Racquet Club Invitational from the roster.
 
Dimi Azoides did not miss a beat returning to action by advancing to the finals after besting (#91) Pierce Rollins of Texas A&M 4-6, 6-4, 7-6.  Red Raider senior Ilgiz Valiev advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play defeating participants from Rice and UTSA before losing to eventual champion Baptiste Anselmo of Oklahoma. 
 
Valiev and Azoides then teamed up in doubles play to advance to the semifinal round defeating teams from Rice and Texas A&M along the way. 
 
Up Next:  The Red Raiders are back in action this weekend when they travel to Dallas for the Lakes Invitational (September 17 – 19).
