NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's tennis team will take the court at a trio of tournaments beginning Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Sooners are slated to compete at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco, Calif., the Lakes Invite in Frisco, Texas, and the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Milwaukee, Wis.

"This is another big weekend for the Sooners," head coach Nick Crowell said. "We are playing all over the country and have opportunities at all three events to play against great competition, and another chance to improve heading into the spring."

No. 46 Mason Beiler and Baptiste Anselmo will represent OU in San Francisco beginning Thursday. The four-day event, hosted by the University of San Francisco, will include student-athletes from USC, Texas, TCU, Cal, Michigan, Arkansas. Stanford, Arizona State, USF, Pepperdine, UCSB, USD, Cal Poly and Hawaii. Beiler is set to make his return to the tournament after a successful run in 2019, tallying four wins over ranked opponents. Live results for the Battle in the Bay Classic can be found on the UTR website and matches will be streamed via Track Tennis.

Friday will kick off action for the Sooners in Texas. Nathan Han, Welsh Hotard, Justin Schlageter and Matt Rodriguez will compete in the Lakes Invite. Student-athletes from Texas Tech, SMU and Rice will be represented at the invitational. Each student-athlete will play three singles and three doubles matches. The event will take place at the Lakes Tennis Club in Frisco, Texas.

Jordan Hasson and Mark Mandlik will be the last group to represent OU, getting started Saturday in Milwaukee. The three-day tournament will feature a 32-player singles draw and 16-team doubles bracket.  Teams from all over the country will be represented at the classic.

"We want to continue to improve each week we play, and continue to sharpen our skills and build confidence throughout the fall," Crowell said.
