Global Leaders of Influence to be recognized by World Affairs Council

The World Affairs Council of Greater Houston will be recognizing Houston’s Global Leaders of Influence, a cohort of community leaders from a variety of backgrounds and fields, all contributing to Houston’s standing as an international city.

Global Leaders of Influence exhibit cross-cultural collaboration, international understanding and have an enduring commitment to the city of Houston.

Randy Czarlinsky, American Jewish Committee, Houston Region director, will be recognized with 10 other Houston leaders at WAC’s 23rd annual Jesse H. Jones Awards Luncheon: Celebrating Houston’s Global Leadership on Thursday, Oct. 14.

Joining Czarlinsky as recipients of WAC’s Global Leaders of Influence are Sofia Adrogué, partner, Diamond McCarthy LLP; Cristal Montañéz Baylor, international coordinator, Hope For Venezuelan Refugees; Heather Cykoski, group vice president, ABB; Linda Head, senior associate vice chancellor, Lonestar College; Deanea LeFlore, senior director of Partnerships, The Ion; Katie Mehnert, founder and CEO, ALLY Energy; Dr. Laura Murillo, president and CEO, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Hon. Alicia Kerber Palma, consul general of Mexico; Miguel Sanchez, vice president of International Operations, Nabors Industries; and Y. Ping Sun, university representative in the Office of the President, Rice University.

The 11:30 a.m. luncheon, at The Post Oak Hotel in Uptown Houston, will feature David Rubenstein, co-founder and co-chairman of The Carlyle Group, in a conversation with Oxy president and CEO Vicki Hollub.

World Affairs Council will honor the 2021 International Citizens of the Year, BP’s Starlee Sykes, senior VP of Gulf of Mexico and Canada, BP; and Alistair Vickers, CEO of BP Wind Energy
