XC: September 28 Athletes of the Week

DALLAS – After leading the Mean Green to a team victory, UNT’s Caleb Bouchard earned the Conference USA Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week while Grace Forbes from Rice brought home her second weekly honor of the season on the women’s side, the league announced Tuesday. The weekly award is presented by Surf & Turf Golf.
 
C-USA Male Athlete of the Week – Caleb Bouchard, North Texas, SR, Trophy Club, Texas
Senior Caleb Bouchard helped lead North Texas to its second-straight team title this season as he finished second overall with an 8K time of 23:47.5. He improved upon his 8K time by 39 seconds in the race and took home his best finish in a race during his career at North Texas.
 
C-USA Female Athlete of the Week – Grace Forbes, Rice, SO, Wallingford, Pa.
Sophomore Grace Forbes earned her second weekly C-USA honor this season after winning the Texas A&M Invitational with a 5K time of 16:58.0, a whole 34 seconds ahead of second place. It is the third victory of Forbes’ career and her second individual title of this season. She is also the first female C-USA runner to win twice in a season since 2018 when Winny Koech (UTEP) took home the honor three times.
