Volleyball hits the road for matches against LA Tech

DENTON — Now with a 7-7 record after opening conference play with a pair of losses to Rice, North Texas volleyball hits the road this weekend to face Louisiana Tech for two matches in the second weekend of Conference USA play.

It's the first road conference matchup of the season for the Mean Green.

North Texas has dropped four consecutive matches, but has still seen stellar play over the rough stretch. Senior outside hitter Rhett Robinson was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Redbird Classic when the Mean Green went 1-2, and continued her strong effort with 14 kills apiece in each of the contests versus Rice.

Louisiana Tech has also seen some struggles, especially in their first week of conference play. The Lady Techsters hold a 6-10 record, and dropped both of their Conference USA opening matches to UTSA by scores of 3-0 and 3-1.

This weekend's matches will be the 31st and 32nd meetings all time between the two programs. North Texas leads the all time series 19-12, and also won the most recent matchup the two schools played back on March 15, 2021.
