DALLAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team is back on the course this week for the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, starting on Monday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Trinity Forest Golf Club plays 7,330 yards and is a par 71.
The Competition
There will be a 13-team field will feature: Host SMU, Abilene Christian, Kansas City, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, UNLV, UT Arlington, UTRGV, and UTSA.

UTRGV finished in 13
th at the Lone Star Invitational to open the season with a three-round total of 942.
Leonardo Novella led the way with a 13
th place finish after posting a three-round score of 223 with rounds of 78, 68, and 77.
Juan Luis de Bethencourt Duque finished in 60
th with a three-round score of 237 with rounds of 80, 82, and 75.
Rhaasrikanesh Kanavathi finished in 65
th with a three-round total of 242 after posting rounds of 78, 80, and 84.
Tennoshin Ogawa tied for 69
th with a three-round score of 245 after turning in rounds of 82, 83, and 80 while
Taj Sutherland finished tied for 71
st with a three-round score of 246 with rounds of 81, 85, and 80.
Last Time at Trinity Forest Invitational
UTRGV did not compete in last season's Trinity Forest Invitational.
SMU won the team title with a three-round score of 835 with rounds of 284, 280, and 271. UTSA finished in second with a three-round score of 862 while Little Rock finished in third with a three-round score of 869.
Little Rock's Anton Albers won the individual title with a three-round total of 206 with rounds of 71, 71, and 64.
Next Up
UTRGV will back in action on October 11 when they tee it up at the Bentwater Intercollegiate, hosted by Sam Houston, at Bentwater Country Club.
