XC: 2021 All-Academic Teams Announced

DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 12 cross country student-athletes to its 2021 C-USA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Teams on Wednesday. Eight schools are represented among the two teams, with Rice receiving three selections and North Texas and Charlotte earning two honorees each.
 
On the men’s side, student-athletes honored all had over a 3.5 GPA and featured majors in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Finance, Neuroscience and Mechanical Engineering. Three graduates were chosen who are now pursuing masters’ degrees at their respective school.
 
Additionally, Louisiana Tech’s Conner Killian is a five-time C-USA All-Academic selection and boasts a 4.0 GPA with an MBA and a 4.0 in his Forestry major along with earning a 3.937 in accounting graduating Summa Cum Laude. North Texas’ Caleb Bouchard has been honored three times with his 4.0 GPA in Biomedical Engineering.
 
For the six women’s selections, no one received lower than a 3.7 GPA. The collected majors included Civil Engineering, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, Computer Science and Environmental Studies and Sustainability.
 
Two of this year’s all-academic selections on the women’s team have been honored three times in Charlotte junior Chandler Horton, who holds a 3.819 GPA in Civil engineering and FAU’s Madlen Kappeler, as she has a 3.933 GPA in Exercise Science. Additionally All-American sophomore Grace Forbes picked up her second All-Academic honor with a 3.86 GPA in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology.
 
The 2021 Conference USA Cross Country Championships will be held this Saturday, Oct. 30 in Concord, N.C.
