KAWSE to host Career Chat with Leslie Wren

Submitted by KAWSE

Join the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, for the final Career Chat of the semester.

Career Chats are opportunities for students and staff to hear from current professionals in the field regarding their experience navigating STEM as a woman or other marginalized identity. From noon to 1 p.m. on Nov. 10, hear from Leslie Wren, an assistant professor at K-State with experience in several different areas in STEM.

RSVP by this Friday, Nov. 5.

A licensed landscape architect and horticulturist, Wren practiced for more than 10 years in North Carolina and Texas, including managing her own solo-practitioner firm, before joining the faculty at K-State. Her professional experience includes public, institutional, commercial, greenway and residential projects. She has also been a farm laborer, a landscape foreman and a leader of the volunteer installation of a school garden.

Wren has a bachelor's degree in biology, with a concentration in ecology and evolutionary biology, from Rice University and master's degrees in both horticultural science and landscape architecture from North Carolina State University. She is also a certified designer of early childhood environments through the Natural Learning Initiative.
