DALLAS – A pair of Conference USA men’s cross country student-athletes were at-large selections for the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in 2021 C-USA Individual Champion Paul Arredondo (Charlotte) and Jacob Choge (Middle Tennessee).
The league already saw automatic qualifier Rice women advance, the first women’s team to earn a bid since 2010 and Rice sophomore Grace Forbes win the South Central Region individual title.
Arredondo of Charlotte is the reigning C-USA individual champion and finished seventh in the Southeast Regional with a 10K time of 29:26.5 to earn his spot in the national championship.
Fifth-year senior Jacob Choge of MTSU, who was part of the Blue Raiders 2021 C-USA Championship Team, crossed the line in 29:38.44, the fasted by a non-qualifying team, to earn his spot.
The 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 20, 2021 at Apalachee Regional Park.
