VB: 2021 All-Academic Team Announced

DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed 11 student-athletes to its 2021 C-USA Volleyball All-Academic Team Monday afternoon. Nine schools are represented with Old Dominion and WKU each having two student-athletes earn spots on the list, while FAU, Middle Tennessee, Marshall, Southern Miss, Rice, Charlotte and UTEP are highlighted as well.
 
Student-athletes honored all had at least a 3.7 GPA and featured majors in Business, Visual Arts, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Sports Management, Speech Pathology, Finance, Biology, Kinesiology, Psychology and Nursing.
 
Sydney Rowan of Charlotte has been an All-Academic selection on three occasions, as she holds a 3.973 GPA in her fifth year as a Pre-Business student. Along with being a part of the conference’s 2020 and 2019 All-Academic Teams, Rowan also was nominated to the CoSIDA All-Academic District team. Rice senior, Nicole Lennon joins Sydney as a three-time selection with a 3.73 GPA as she wraps up her studies in both Economics and Psychological Studies.
 
Five selections have earned All-Academic honors in previous years, in Old Dominion junior Anna Burkhardt, who holds a 3.9 GPA as a Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering student, Old Dominion senior Hailey Duncan, has a 4.0 in Psychology and Nursing, UTEP Paulina Pérez Rosas senior who is a Kinesiology major earning 3.92 GPA, Samira Lawson Body of Middle Tennessee is a senior Biology student with a 4.0 GPA and Sarah Schank, a senior Finance student attending Marshall holds a 3.71.
 
Additionally, junior Stephanie Young of Florida Atlantic, WKU’s Katie Isenbarger and Southern Miss’ Senior Duquesne Moratzka all earned their first All-Academic honors this year.
 
The 2021 Conference USA Volleyball Championship will be held November 19-21 in Norfolk, Virginia.
