Cowgirls rally back to beat Missouri State in basketball

STILLWATER — Whatever Oklahoma State coach Jim Littell said at halftime worked.

The Cowgirls came back from a 12-point deficit Wednesday night and beat Missouri State 44-40 in women's basketball inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU (2-1) trailed 27-15 at the break before rallying back behind Taylen Collins and Lauren Fields.

Collins was 8 of 13 from the field and finished the game with 16 points. She added a team-high 11 rebounds. Fields had nine points and played exceptional defense. The former Shawnee standout added five blocks and two steals, which helped OSU outscore the Bears 12-2 in the third quarter. 

Missouri State (2-1) had eight points each from Jasmine Franklin and Abi Jackson. Franklin had a game-high 19 rebounds.

OSU next plays 2 p.m. Saturday at Rice in Houston.
