New SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee’s first coaching staff is coming together, including the addition of offensive coordinator Casey Woods from Missouri.

Naivar is the latest addition and he has plenty of Texas ties. He spent three seasons as the safeties coach at Texas before he went to USC. He also coached at Kentucky, Rice, Texas State and Sam Houston State, among other positions. His coaching career started at Hardin-Simmons after he finished playing quarterback there.

One big hire Lashlee still needs to make is defensive coordinator. Now that the other two coordinators are hired, Lashlee can focus on finding his defensive play caller.
