Chorley have had a great festive period as well, Harry Cardwell was the two-goal hero as the Magpies eventually got the better of Curzon Ashton in a seven-goal thriller.

Blyth Spartans shocked Spennymoor Town 3-1, while struggling AFC Telford United showed real spirit to come from 2-0 down to draw very late on at Leamington.

York City beat Alfreton 1-0 thanks to Paddy McLaughlin while Southport keep firing - they defeated Farsley 4-0, with all the goals coming before half-time.

In the National League South, long term leaders Dartford are down to fourth.

But they didn’t suffer defeat at Braintree Town as Jake Robinson and Jack Jebb - in the 97th minute - earned a comeback point.

Ebbsfleet United also missed the chance to worry leaders Oxford City, they fired blanks at home to struggling Billericay Town.

Maidstone United have now won five in a row and eased to three points with a 4-1 win over Welling United.

Havant & Waterlooville kept a clean sheet after being hit for eight at Dorking on Boxing Day but couldn’t see off Hemel Hempstead Town.

Slough Town were sensational as they won 4-1 at home to Hampton & RB, Guy Hollis among the goalscorers.

Chippenham put derby defeat to Bath City behind them with a win at Hungerford Town. Harry Parsons hit two.

Chelmsford City won 3-1 at Concord Rangers, Reggie Gregory making the game safe in another Essex derby.
