Scouting the Owls
• Head Coach Lindsay Edmonds is in her 1st season leading the Owls and has posted a 6-8 (1-5 C-USA) mark so far this season.
• Sophomore starting point guard Destiny Jackson is averaging 8.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 30.5 minutes per contest while shooting 46.4 percent from the field in her third season with the Owls. • The Owls return one starter, Katelyn Crosthwait, and six letterwinners from last year's squad. Crosthwait averaged 8.2 points and 5.3 rebounds last season while leading the team with 43 made three-pointers.
• The Owls garnered 94 points in the C-USA Preseason Poll and were slotted eighth out of the 14 teams.
Scouting the Lady Eagles
• Daishai Almond, Kelsey Jones and Destiny Smith have all been with the Lady Eagles since their freshman season and bring a combined 268 games played to the table.
• Southern Miss senior Kelsey Jones is on pace to end her career with the best all-time field-goal percentage of any Lady Eagle to ever don the Black & Gold. The redshirt senior is currently shooting at a 59.9 percent clip throughout her career.
• Dating back to the 2019-20 season, Southern Miss is 18-1 when holding opponents under 70 points, with the only loss coming against FIU in OT last season. Consequently, the Lady Eagles are 0-19 when giving up 70 or more.
• Out of 348 Division I programs, USM ranks at 332nd for three-point field goals per game, averaging just 3.5 per game.
