Scholar athlete of the year: Katherine Sammy

Getting it done in the swimming pool and in the classroom is pretty normal for Katherine Sammy. A 4.0 GPA student and one of the top swimmers in the area she’s not only continuing her swim career at rice university but she is also this years scholar athlete of the year recipient. Made possible by Fine Farkash and Parlapiano law firm, Sammy has been awarded a $5,000 scholarship award. Presenter of the award Jack Fine is happy to be apart of it.

“It is really great its wonderful to see young students work really hard and apply themselves in school be a part of our community it's really great.”

For Katherine, on a day she won't forget, she was just happy to have her friends, family and teammates there to celebrate.

“I'm just really excited to be here with my family teammates and coaches that have really helped me a long the way.”
