Cougars head west, close road trip in Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Houston Baseball wraps its four-game season-opening road swing at 6 p.m. Tuesday when it faces McNeese from Joe Miller Ballpark. The contest can be heard on The Varsity Network app and Cougars All-Access.

The Cougars (0-3) are looking to bounce back after a difficult weekend at the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona. Fourteen players (eight offensive, six pitchers) made their Cougar debuts including all three starting pitchers.

McNeese (2-1) took 2-of-3 from Stony Brook on Opening Weekend. The Cowboys, who play 11 of their first 12 games at home, hit just .207 as a team but cashed in on excellent pitching, posting a 2.33 ERA while striking out 29 batters in 27.0 innings.
