Golden Eagles to Play Final Road Game Saturday

DALLAS -- The Southern Miss (6-22, 1-14 C-USA) men's basketball team will play its final road game of the regular season on Saturday night at Rice (14-13, 6-9 C-USA). Tipoff from Tudor Fieldhouse is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST and will air on CUSA.tv.

The Need to Know
- The Golden Eagles are coming off a stretch of four games in seven days and a road loss to North Texas, who sits at the top of the C-USA standings.
- Southern Miss played shorthanded at North Texas on Thursday night, as it only had 11 players available.
- Walyn Napper led all Golden Eagles with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and dished out five assists.
- Isaih Moore added 14 points, while Rashad Bolden scored 11. Bolden finished in double figures for the eighth time this season.
- Against WKU nine days ago, Moore became only the third C-USA player this season to record at least 25 points and 12 rebounds in a game this season. Moore joins LA Tech's Kenneth Lofton and Rice's Max Fiedler as the only players to do so.
- Moore added another 25-point performance against UTEP, then poured in 19 points against Marshall.
- Tyler Stevenson is 28th all-time on the Southern Miss scoring list with 1,171 points. He trails James Williams (1981-85) by 18 points.
- Napper's 2.12 assist to turnover ratio ranks second in C-USA and 69thnationally.
- Stevenson's nine double-doubles are third-most in C-USA and ranks 40thnationally.
- Stevenson has eclipsed 200 total rebounds for the second time in his career and five from breaking his previous season high of 204 in 2019-20.
- Moore's 12.4 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game are the highest marks of his three-year collegiate career.
- Moore's six blocks against UTSA were the most by a Golden Eagle since Gary Flowers swatted seven against New Orleans in 2009.

Scouting the Owls
- Rice concludes its home slate on Saturday with the Golden Eagles -- it will also be senior day for Carl Pierre and Terrance McBride.
- The Owls are coming off an 83-79 loss to LA Tech on Thursday night.
- Pierre led all Owls with 20 points. Max Fiedler and Travis Evee each added 19.
- Coined 'Green Light U' for its three-point threat, Rice knocked down 11 against LA Tech on Thursday.
- The Owls went 10-of-30 from deep against Southern Miss in the Jan. 29 meeting.
- Pierre leads all Rice players at 14.8 points per game. Just behind him, Travis Evee is averaging 14.7 points per game.
- Forward Max Fiedler is putting up 9.8 points per game and is pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game.
- Scott Pera is 64-86 in his fifth season at Rice.
- Rice ranks 11th in the country in three-point field goal percentage (38.3%) and 20th in three-pointers
made per game (9.6).

- Following Saturday's contest, Southern Miss will head back to Hattiesburg to prepare UAB (Wednesday) and Charlotte (Saturday). Both games will be at Reed Green Coliseum.
