Homestand Continues Against Lamar

Cougars, Cardinals meet Tuesday at Schroeder Park

HOUSTON – Houston Baseball continues its seven-game homestand with midweek action against Lamar on Tuesday from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
 
As part of 2-Dollar Tuesday, fans can purchase $2 tickets at the box office on game day and take advantage of $2 nachos at the concession stand. Houston-themed Mardi Gras beads will also be given away while supplies last. Fans attending Houston Men's Basketball's 8 p.m. contest against Cincinnati will be admitted for free by showing their basketball ticket.

The Cougars (4-3) are riding a four-game win streak after victories against Texas Southern and UTRGV over the weekend. Lamar (4-3) has won each of its first two weekend series including taking 2-of-3 from Rice over the weekend.

NEED TO KNOW
Houston catcher Anthony Tulimero was named to The American's weekly honor roll after throwing out five would-be base stealers. The redshirt sophomore batted .389 (7-for-18) with five runs, two doubles and three RBIs.
 
During its current four-game win streak, Houston's pitching staff has registered a 3.75 ERA and limited opponents to a .226 average. Offensively, three everyday players have hit above a .300 mark, led by Tulimero (.389), Ryan Hernandez (.333) and Ian McMillan (.333).
 
Tuesday marks the 84th all-time meeting between Houston and Lamar with the Cougars holding a 54-29 advantage. The visit is the first from Lamar to Schroeder Park since March 20, 2018, when Houston used a three-run seventh inning to notch a 3-1 comeback victory.
 
UP NEXT
The Cougars wrap their seven-game homestand with a three-game series against Incarnate Word beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Saturday's contest is also set for 6:30 p.m. while Sunday's finale gets underway at 1 o'clock.
 
Bring your four-legged friends for Bark in the Park weekend as Houston hosts Incarnate Word. Dog bowls will be given away all weekend for your furry friends. 
 
Fridays at the ballpark are 713 Night where fans can buy $7 tickets at the box office and $7.13 Tex-Mex Nachos. Houston has partnered with Raising Cane's for the 2022 season. When the Cougars win on Saturdays, all fans will receive a coupon for a Buy One, Get One Free Box Combo. 
 
Come out for Kids Day and Family Day at the ballpark on Sundays. Kids (12 and under) get in free with their youth jersey and may run the bases postgame. All fans can score autographs from their favorite players and $5 hot dog and soda combos from the concession stands.
