Cougars, Lions clash at Schroeder Park

HOUSTON – Houston Baseball looks to continue its string of home success, taking on Columbia in a three-game series beginning 6:30 p.m. Friday from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park. Saturday's middle game is set for 6:30 p.m. and Sunday's finale has been bumped up to noon to accommodate travel.

The Cougars (11-6) have won 11 of their last 14 games including taking down Texas A&M, 8-2, on Tuesday night. Houston's eight runs and 12 hits were its most against the Aggies since April 1, 2014, when the No. 10 Cougars defeated Texas A&M, 10-8, behind 17 hits.

Columbia (4-8) wraps a stretch of 15 consecutive road games to begin the season this weekend. The Lions played a contested series at Baylor one weekend ago, winning Saturday's middle game 11-4 before dropping the finale 4-3 in 10 innings.
