STORYLINES

LEADING OFF

• Baylor rounds out its four-game home stretch and enters the sixth week of the season by welcoming UTSA to Baylor Ballpark on Tuesday.

• BU went 1-3 last week, salvaging its Big 12-opening series against No. 21 TCU with a 7-3 win on Sunday.

• The Bears are 5-4 against ranked opponents in 2022, with wins over No. 23 Duke, No. 23 UCLA, No. 7 LSU and No. 21 TCU.

• Baylor is 46-16 in midweek contests under seventh-year head coach Steve Rodriguez, including a 3-1 mark in 2022.

• BU is 78-33 (.703) at Baylor Ballpark over the last five seasons, including a 6-7 record this season.

• Over the past week, Baylor's offense erupted for 45 hits across four games, hitting .288 as a team.

• The Bears have tallied seven multi-hit performances in 2022, with three of them coming in the last four games.

• BU set a season-high with 17 hits as a team on Saturday against No. 21 TCU in the 11-inning loss.

• The Bears followed that up with a 14-hit day on Sunday in the 7-3 victory over the Horned Frogs.

• The top of the order has led the charge, as Tre Richardson hit .476 last week (10-for-21), while Jack Pineda has collected multiple hits in five of his last six games.

TURNING TWO
