HUMBLE, Texas - The North Texas men's golf team battled brutal weather conditions, including wind gusts up to 35 mph and on-and-off rain, but managed to put together two solid rounds and end the first day of the All-American Intercollegiate in a tie for third place with the final round at the Golf Club of Houston set for Tuesday.

The Mean Green are at 11-over par through two rounds after their 293-294, led by sophomore Vicente Marzilio, who is tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard at even-par for the tournament after his 3-under 69 in the second of two rounds on Monday when he birdied five of eight holes at one point.

Fifth-year Viktor Forslund is tied for 18th at 3-over after his 72-75, and senior Lenny Bergsson and sophomore Diego Prone are tied for 30th at 5-over par entering the final round.

The Mean Green enter Tuesday's final round trailing second-place Houston by one shot, while No. 33 Florida State has a comfortable lead at 7-under par. The only other top-50 program in the field, No. 46 Baylor, is in 11th place at 27-over par.
