OMAHA, Neb. (KPTM) — Creighton Softball fell to Providence 10-7 on Sunday afternoon in the series finale, according to a press release from Creighton Athletics.
This game puts Creighton at 13-11 overall and 3-4 BIG EAST. While, Providence rose to 18-9 overall and 10-7 in the conference.
The Friars started the game with a 4-0 lead over the Bluejays.
The lead was shortened later. Creighton's Cayla Nielsen scored her fourth home run of the season.
The Friars responded in the fourth inning by bumping their score up to 7-2.
During the sixth inning, after a single from Rachael Petrarca, Providence's score rose to 10-4.
They were not allowed to score again.
Sophomore Emma Rosonke hit a three-home run which took the Bluejays to 10-7.
Creighton was led by Alyssa Gappa who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Rosonke got four runs for Creighton and bumped up her BIG EAST leading RBI to 33 RBI.
Creighton travels to Lincoln to face their rivals the Huskers at Bowlin Stadium on Tuesday, March 29 at 5:00 p.m.
