Andrew Akuchie, SF, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: Rice University signee was a three-year varsity member and said he was proud of team reaching the Class 6A regional semifinals; averaged 15.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.8 blocks per game, 1.3 assists per game.

Landon Boggus, SG/PG, Western senior: Two-year varsity member went for 36 against Taravella including a long 3 to tie the game with 50 seconds left; career highlight was going 7 for 11 in 3-pointers, including five straight in a game; 22.4 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1.2 steals.

Brandon Johnson, F/G, Boyd Anderson senior: Co-captain was three-year varsity member; season highlight was beating rival Dillard as an underdog; averaged 10.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals per game; said career highlight was either dunking on two players from Deerfield or senior night dunk which was “hardest of his career.”

Kolby King, G, Pembroke Pines Charter senior: St. John’s University signee led Jaguars (25-4) in scoring with 15.3 points per game, also averaged 0.5 assists, 0.7 rebounds, 0.5 steals; scored 25 points in wins over Westminster Academy and Central Catholic (Portland, Oregon).

Kevin Pazmino, SG/F, Cypress Bay senior: Team captain and four-year varsity member helped Lightning (23-6) to best record and longest winning streak (11) in school history; BCAA Big 8 All-Tournament team; averaged 13.6 points for district champion; also plays spikeball.

Dwayne Wimbley Jr., Wing, Dillard freshman: Team captain averaged 15.1 points, 2.3 assists, 7 rebounds, 1.4 steals; BCAA Big 8 All-Tournament team; hit buzzer-beaters in back-to-back games against Blanche Ely and Deerfield; had 7 dunks in game against Coconut Creek; also plays volleyball.

Elijah Wyche, G/F, Pembroke Pines Charter senior: In 29 games, averaged 11.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists; said winning school’s first state title last season was career highlight; season highlight was playing against top teams in the country, and with this group of teammates.

Dave Roca, Pembroke Pines Charter: Led Jaguars (25-4) to Class 6A regional final where they fell 52-47 to eventual state champion Martin County; beat six teams in MaxPreps Top-25; played national schedule and finished runner-up in Iolani Nike Classic in Hawaii. “This team was impactful. They were players that embraced my philosophy of teamwork and were a dynamic bunch. They all intentionally worked to ensure that they each focused on being the best person for the team rather than the best person on the team.”
