Here are the top five stories in Houston today:

1. Goode Co. Barbeque, one of Houston's most enduring restaurants, will reopen its Cypress location Friday, April 1. It originally closed in 2020 at the start of the pandemic, but will resume lunch and dinner service with Goode Co.'s full menu of smoked meats, sides and desserts. (CultureMap Houston)

2. Rice University's Shepherd School of Music will debut its new Brockman Hall for Opera in April, complete with a series of corresponding public events. It is designed specifically for young singers to project their voices without overextending themselves and is the first theater with such a configuration among U.S. universities and conservatories, according to a press release. 3. The Mayor's Office of Veterans & Military Affairs (MOVMA) and Mayor Pro-Tem Dave Martin hosted the Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony Tuesday at City Hall. The event is observed annually on March 29 and is an opportunity for all to thank and honor the nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. (Click2Houston)

4. Police and family members are asking for help finding a League City woman who has been missing for more than one week. Caroline Gaddis, a 39-year-old counselor, was last seen leaving her office in Galveston on March 18. After that, her parents said she disappeared. (KHOU 11)

5. Houston City Council will consider a proposal today that, if passed, would add vaping and smoking e-cigarettes to the city's existing ban on smoking in public spaces. A Houston Health Department spokesman said today's proposal targeting vape pens and e-cigarettes is a necessary reaction to the growing numbers of young people in the city smoking alternative forms of tobacco.
