NM State Golf Heads to Arizona for Tournaments

Both NM State Men’s and Women’s Golf will compete in tournaments hosted by the University of Wyoming this week.

Wyoming Cowgirl Classic
Monday, April 4 – Tuesday, April 5 | Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club | Maricopa, Ariz.

TEEING OFF
• The Cowgirl Classic will feature a 22-team field for the two-day event.
• Montana, CSU Fullerton, and Northern Colorado will be paired with NM State on day one.
• Alison Gastelum, Valentina Origel, Amelia McKee, Meiji Tungprapunvong, and Alex Quihuis will represent the Aggies in Arizona.
• NM State will compete for the first time since its 14th place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU.
• The Wyoming Cowgirl Classic will be the third event of the spring for NM State.

COMING UP NEXT
• Next week, the Aggies will head to University Place, Washington to compete in the Pacific Northwest Women's Invitational – Hosted by the University of Washington.

TEEING OFF
• The Cowboy Classic will feature a 25-team field for the two day event, including six Power Five opponents.
• UTSA, CSU Fullerton, and Weber State are the groups paired with the Aggies in the first day of competition.
• Garrison Smith, Aidan Thomas, Matt Jackman, Alvaro Morales, and Joseph Robson will be the five for NM State in Chandler.
• This is the second tournament that NM State will compete in that is hosted by the University of Wyoming. In the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, the Aggies finished tied for third place.
• Thomas carded a top-five finish in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, shooting five under in the three-day event.
COMING UP NEXT
• After Arizona, the Aggies will head to Conroe, Texas to compete in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Rice University.
