Cougars complete Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday

Maswanganyi finishes third in the men's 100-meter finals

WALNUT, Calif. – The Houston track and field team completed the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday afternoon at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium. 

The Cougars started the day with the men's 100-meter finals as Shaun Maswanganyi and Edward Sumler finished in third and fifth, respectively. Maswanganyi clocked a 10.26 and Sumler finished with a 10.31. 

A team of Trey Johnson, Jordan Booker, Antonio Ruiz and Quivell Jordan closed out the day in the men's 4x400-meter relay. With a time of 3:06.31, the Cougars were edged out of a podium finish by three-thousandths of a second.

The track and field team returns to Houston to compete at Rice on Saturday, April 23.
