Cougars face Bulls in Week 5 of league play

TAMPA, Fla. – University of Houston Baseball looks to continue its strong start to American Athletic Conference play when it visits South Florida for a three-game series beginning at 11 a.m. CT Friday from USF Bull Stadium.

Saturday's middle game is set for 9 a.m. CT and Sunday's finale gets underway at 9 a.m. CT. All three contests can be seen on ESPN+ and heard on The Varsity Network app.

The Cougars (26-15, 7-5 American) have won three of their first four league series including taking 2 of 3 from Tulane last weekend. Houston is 1.0 game back of Tulane, UCF and East Carolina who sit tied atop the standings at 8-4.

Junior pitcher Logan Clayton (New Smyrna Beach) and sophomore hurler Kerry Wright (Orlando) are Florida natives. Junior pitcher Kyle LaCalameto also spent time in the Sunshine State as a teammate of Clayton's at College of Central Florida (Ocala, Fla.) in 2021.

Houston is in the midst of playing 11 of its final 16 games, including three of its final four conference series, away from Schroeder Park. The Cougars opened an abbreviated four-game road trip with a 4-1 loss Tuesday at Lamar.
