Alabama Roots: 2022 NFL Draft picks

Twenty-one prospects who played at Alabama high schools and colleges had their names called when the NFL held its 87th annual draft Thursday through Saturday.

The 2022 draft is the fifth in a row in which NFL teams have drafted 21 players with Alabama football roots.

NFL teams selected five prospects who went from Alabama high schools to state colleges, seven who played at Alabama high schools and went out of state to college, six who came from out of state to play for Alabama colleges and three who played at Alabama colleges before transferring to other programs.

Fifteen NFL teams added players with Alabama roots in their football growth, with the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders taking two apiece.
