DALLAS – Following standout performances this past week, Charlotte OF Jake Cunningham and Middle Tennessee LHP Peyton Wiggington brought home C-USA baseball’s weekly awards, the league announced on Monday. Cunningham was a major contributor during Charlotte’s weekend series win at Florida Atlantic, hitting .533, with three home runs and driving in six on his way to Hitter of the Week honors. Wiggington was strong on Friday night for the Blue Raiders, tossing a complete game shutout in a series-opening win on at Rice to earn Pitcher of the Week. The 2022 C-USA Players of the Week awards are presented by Surf & Turf Golf.

JAKE CUNNINGHAM, CHARLOTTE

Cunningham led Charlotte with a .533 average and registered eight hits against Florida Atlantic in a series win for the Niners, as they took two-of-three in Boca Raton. Cunningham hit three home runs on Sunday as part of two separate games, and finished a single shy of the cycle in the final game of the series after two home runs, a double, a triple, and a walk, while driving in four.

PEYTON WIGGINGTON, MIDDLE TENNESSEE
SENIOR, LHP, FRANKLIN, TN.
Wiggington pitched his second complete game of the season, his second-career complete-game shutout and the third pitched by a Blue Raider in 2022 on Friday in a win at Rice. Wiggington struck out a season-high 10 batters and held the Owls to two hits in Middle Tennessee's 7-0 win. The southpaw retired the first nine Owls he faced and struck out seven across the final three innings.
