Eisenhower announces Top 10 graduates

Cardinals headed for big things!

Eisenhower High School in Blue Island proudly announces that the students listed below compiled the 10 highest grade point averages for the class of 2022.

Each has earned Honors with Distinction, the highest academic recognition category, for compiling a grade point average exceeding 4.0 and qualified for National Honor Society.

Lesly Campos – Lesly participated in show choir, marching band and spring musical. She will study nursing at St. Xavier University.

Edwin Cardona – Edwin competed in Mathletes and speech team and served as an Advanced Placement mentor. He will pursue a career in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field.

Britney Martinez – A member of student council, Mathetes, choir and Tri-M (music honors), Britney will study psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Maglio Leonardo Martinez – An award-winning soloist for show choir, Maglio participated in spring musical, marching band, fall play, jazz band, and speech team. He will study musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Izabealla Nieves – Izabella competed in bowling and speech team and volunteered in the community through her church. She will attend Moraine Valley Community College before transferring to a four-year college to study neuroscience.

Sebastian Rios – Sebastian competed in tennis, golf, bowling, track, Mathletes, chess, and Scholastic Bowl. He will begin studies in chemical engineering this fall at the University of Iowa.

Ariana Rosales – Ariana competed in Mathletes and speech team and participated as a freshman advisor and math tutor. She will study computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Brianna Solano – President of NHS, Brianna participated in speech team, choir, student council, Group Interpretation and Leo Club. A Golden Apple Scholar, she will study elementary education at Illinois State University.

Jania Southall – A member of student council, choir and African American Cultural Awareness, Jania competed in Mathletes. She will attend Hampton University.

Edgar Suarez – Edgar competed in Mathletes and ran track. He received a QuestBridge Award, which includes full tuition, room and board, to Rice University where he will study biomedical engineering.
