The College World Series is only a day away! Teams are gathering in Omaha (which is currently in the midst of a heat wave) for the start of what is sure to be an exciting competition for the national title.

Half of the field of 8 teams is made up of SEC squads, with Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn and Ole Miss all surviving both regionals and super regionals to earn spots in Omaha. Two future SEC members — Texas and Oklahoma — are also still alive. Stanford and Notre Dame round out the College World Series field.

Of the 64 teams total in regional play, 32 were selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Baseball Committee and 16 national seeds hosted regionals tournaments. The winners of the regional tournament advanced to the super regionals. The winners of the 8 super regionals made up the field of 8 teams advancing to Omaha for the College World Series.
