Break Up Your Week With a Musical Interlude: Virtual Music at Noon

Junko Ueno Garrett has captivated audiences around the world with her colorful tone, poetry, expressiveness, dynamic technique, and wide range of repertoire.

The talented pianist will be performing on the Pasadena Presbyterian Church’s Virtual Music at Noon series on Wednesday, January 19, 12 to 12:30 p.m., premiering on the PPC’s YouTube and Facebook channels.

Born in Japan, she began playing piano at the age of three, trained at the prestigious Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and studied under Professor Hiroshi Miura.

In the U.S., she also received a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music studying under Professor John Perry.

Garrett received the Japanese Consul General’s Award in 2000 for her contributions to international relations and understanding between countries. She was chosen to tour to celebrate the 150 years of the U.S.-Japan relationship and the 125 years of the Brazil-Japan relationship.
